Awareness Seminars Reach 60 Tamil, Sinhala, and Muslim Villages, Addressing Government Assistance Access

In 2007, a comprehensive awareness program was carried out, reaching 60 villages with diverse communities, including Tamil, Sinhala, and Muslim populations. These villages were located in Divisional Secretary Divisions such as Pottuvil, Thirukovil, Karaithivu, Kalmunai, Sammanthurai, Navithanveli, Ugana, and others. The program aimed to inform the communities about various government assistance schemes and address important social issues.

Multiple types of awareness seminars were conducted to cover a range of topics, including child care, environmental protection, sanitation, nutrition, disaster risk reduction (DRR), HIV/AIDS, addiction to liquor, early marriage, child rights, gender equality, peace, and harmony. These seminars likely served as platforms for disseminating crucial information and promoting awareness on key issues affecting the communities. The initiative demonstrated a holistic approach to community development by addressing a wide array of social, health, and environmental concerns.
